Doing some load testing today I had a 5 shot group at 100 yds measuring .6 inches figured I would test this load at a little longer range 300 yards shooting at a circle the size of a snuff can shot 8 shots 4 all in a row then walked to target checked then shot 4 more. 5 out of 8 of them hit inside the circle ranging from the bottom of the circle to the top all in a straight up in down line two dropped off about 2 inches lower in the same line and one dropped off a little left with the lowest hit on the paper .... could this be something I’m doing or could it be the load needs a little or power or less powder overall group size is 5.1 inches but all in a straight line with 5 of the shots within 2.5 inches thanks in advanced

Without chrony data, it’s gonna be hard to tell.

Need velocity, standard deviation, and extreme spread.

Being that it’s nearly all vertical, I would think that it’s either a velocity issue (more specifically extreme spread), or a breathing issue while your shooting. I could def be wrong though. Wouldn’t be the first time.

Digital scale never seemed to have a problem with it in the past not to say that isn’t the problem. Don’t have a croney at the moment so very well could be extreme spread or could be me I’m just a average shooter

At 300 yards thats all rear bag/cheek pressure/rearward pull.
I was kind of leaning towards that myself seeing it shot well at 100 and didn’t string up and down ( out of those bullets for the time being ) should I just load 5-10 up again and give them another try and see what happens before I change anything

Load some more up. If you know someone that is a better shooter than
you, see how they shoot that load. If all else being equal, then the powder charge
might need a change to bring the vertical down some.
