Ok, so I'm mounting a USO B17 on a Mausingfield with a 30 MOA rail and a Proof Sendero profile barrel. My question is, how low can I go with my rings and still be able to use Aad Mount flip covers?

50mm bell ... everybody has safely mounted SB416 in Seekins 0.92" rings with plenty of room for caps, or NF NXS F1 in 30mm 0.87" Seekins lows but that cap sometimes didn't fit. I've had stumpy Hensoldts in 0.92" lows with room for the bikini.

I'd wager you are safe with Seekins 0.92" but not sure I would press APA 0.856".

I appreciate it!

A few examples. Nothing exactly the same, but you can get an idea.

I'll measure mine tonight. I have an M5 with a 30 MOA rail and Proof Sendero barrel.

OK, got my rifle back today and mounted up the scope. Here you go for reference.

R700 LA
Proof Research Sendero Light
Seekins 20MOA Picatinny Rail
Seekins 30mm Low .82" rings
Premier Heritage Light Tactical 3-15×50 w. Premier caps (just like Tenebraex)

Had to slightly clearance the bottom of my cap ring. Might need just a touch more, but not sure yet.

My M5 and Proof Sendero;

Running ARC M10 LOW rings, 30mm with a March 3-24x52mm scope.

Rings are 0.94" from rail top to optical center

March objective bell is 2.362" diameter. I have about 0.220-0.225" clearance between the bottom of the bell and the top of the barrel.

So ring height (rail to optical center) is going to have to be greater than objective+cover radius ( dia. divided by 2) minus 0.461".

For example, my objective bell is 2.362, so the radius is 1.181...... 1.181 - 0.461 = 0.72" So the LOWEST I could possibly have rings (rail top to optical center) would be 0.72, but mine are 0.94, so I have a 0.220" clearance (conservatively).

Hopefully that is helpful and makes sense. Assumes your barrel gets cut roughly the same as mine, and your objective bell ends up somewhere around where mine does, also.
