So I took advantage of Victor Company's Shot Show sale with the 20% off option...FYI this is still running till the end of the month. I highly recommend it! When I say I took advantage of it, what I really mean is, I tried. I was having issues being able to plug the code in and posted in one of Michael's threads about the discount not really expecting much of a response.
He PM'ed me no less than four times helping me get it straightened out. Turns out a few people had the problem. I thought it was a good mark for Michael and his crew how fast they jumped on it and got it fixed. I liked being kept in the loop and it was impressing. They really did right by me with that.
I told him I would post some pictures when they came and I just dug them out of my mailbox. Total install time is about...I'll be conservative, and say...60 seconds! Total snap.
Here's my stick as it sat pre-op...
The accu-stack risers from victor company...
I purchased two 2.5mm and one 6mm riser for a total of 11mm which is what my caliper measurement was for the space between the bottom of the AICS comb and the top of the stock.
The risers slide right over the comb guide pins and are inletted for the bolts under the comb. The risers are reversible if you want to scoot your comb to the left or right. Just flip the stack around and it will move over with the comb when the bolts beneath the comb are loosened.
The rifle as it sits now...
Got down behind it for a quick check and the height was spot on where I had it before I installed the risers. One of the added bonuses here is ease of re-set after cleaning. Anybody with an AICS knows you have to remove the comb to get the cleaning rod through the chamber and barrel. Now you don't have to measure.
It also allows flexibility if you have multiple people that use the same rifle. A buddy of mine and I usually trade off when we go. Fortunately the comb height works about the same for both of us but if you had a guy that liked his adjusted higher or lower than where you are, all it would cost you is a few bucks for another riser or two to get to the right spot for the second shooter and adjustments are quick and easy!
I think its a pretty slick setup, can't wait to get out and shoot with it!
Thanks to Michael and the guys at Accu-Stack! I think this will catch on a lot more as people get familiar with it =)
