VihtVouri N165 338LM TRG 42

[DUB DEE]

Just got some V V N165 for my 338LM TRG42 because i couldnt find any VVN560 (my choice powder for this load). Im trying to acheive ~2950 fps MV w/ this powder and a 250gr SMK. Any info would be great !!

Try with 92-93 grains
Be careful, it's near to max load...N560 is better!

Hi , for TRG-42 my load whit 250 scenar is N-165 91,5 grs oal 3.680 , whit N-560 88,5 grs , I have test N-170 97 grs
not good .

Velocity?

Yesterday I tried with N560 91.5-92.0-92.5 V0 at 2936 fp/s oal 90.5 mm, Lapua Secenar 250 grains bullet, CCI Magnum primers, no signs of over pressure and 1/2 moa at 300 m

Next week I'll try with 93 grains, probably 2969 fp/s
I'm preparing my loads to hit targets over 1700 m

Presently Using a load of 88 grains of Vit 165 in my TRG 42 with 250 grain lockbase. This is giving me 2921FPS at 975mB pressure and 9 degrees centigrade. Not the hottest load in the book but gives sub MOA accuracy at 300m and is good out to 1000m.

WOW that is way to much with N165... MAX LOAD FROM V V is 88.5gr, and experts tell me to be careful with that..... !!!!!!!!!!

my starter load for 338lm was 87.5gr of N560.... gave me close to 2950fps, so far this is my most accurate load, but i can not find tht powder... N570 is where its at from what the pros say... but that too is sold out

sorry that load is with 250gr lapua lock bases and federal 215's at ~3000ft elevation and a 60 degree F

COL is 3.60

Yes, but in summer I load with 91 grains...
In fact in summer with 30-35° 93 grains of N165+ Lapua Scenar 250 grs oal 93.5 mm give me over 3084 fp/s with much over pressure

no signs of of overpressure under 1/2 moa at 300 m
