I have several Vintage Sporting rifles and would like to keep period optics on several of them. I have both B&L/ Kuharsky bases with B&L BALvar scopes and a Stith base that was originally for the Kollmorgen scopes. In early to mid 1970's TASCO made a Model 703 scope on a US Govn. contract as part of the REALTRAIN program. These look like they will drop right in the B&L or Stith mounts. I am wanting to know if anyone here has used these Tasco Model 703 scopes on moderate recoil rifles (</= .308 Win). Any info on the scope or the REALTRAIN program is appreciated.
