They get plenty of 40-50 pounders, but yeah, that thing is another whole class!

I hearing now that this fish was 52 lbs - 10 oz. Not 75, but still a PIG.

That's one nice fish ! Out here (Washington state/British Columbia), any Chinook salmon over 30 pounds is a "Tyee". A Tyee must be caught from a boat with no motorized power and IIRC, a "knucklebuster" reel (non level wind) and no downriggers. My largest was a 28 pounder and was caught with D/R's and outboard motor.

Caught this one off Cape Cod this past summer......

Not 75 pounds but it was tagged.

Sent the tag back to F&W and found out he was a Chesapeake Bay fish on vacation up north.

He wont be going back south.
