Who the hell would visit any city these days?

Much less Chicago.

“Come for the deep dish pizza. Stay because you got murdered.”

I was in Manhattan two weeks ago for a funeral. I made it seven years without going back to that dump.

I had heard they stopped addressing petty crime. It was news to me that they had gotten rid of 90% of trash cans. The city was never the cleanest in the world to begin with. Just imagine it now....

I sat on a bench in Madison Square Park and watched rich folks walk their dogs while dodging crazies, piles of human shit and broken glass. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen. I contemplated how anyone with means to leave would choose to live in such an unsafe, filthy environment for about a half hour. It really made me question their sanity.

Sucker Puncher was nabbed while driving the Sucker Punchie's vehicle 4 days later. CPD had a 6 minute response time and a 4 day recovery time.
Maybe if the scum bags didn’t enforce unconstitutional gun laws like CCW , people could protect themselves and there would be less crime ???

Looks to me like whitey:

1. Appeared to be in the wrong 'hood
2. Had several opportunities to get gone, but decided his pride was more important, and proceeded to have his ass handed to him by several upstanding citizens/area residents.

That's one of the more upscale living/shopping areas! But since the Covid/Law enforcement shutdowns, the street crime has gone up as the "upstanding citizens" come out of their areas at night and into the fancy parts to "carry on"!

Visit Chicago? I won't even do work for transplants from Chicago.

Abrupt, rude, condescending; it's where Karen and her haircut got her start and there is no pleasing them.

But... The Griswolds... But Risky Business.... But Ferris Bueller?

It's America's greatest city... It's the ultimate in middle America...

Oh, wait. That was before Beetlejuice and her type took hold...

It started with Rahm Emanuel... and the new world order that's going at it today...
I know a few long-time Chicago PD coppers. Chi-town was Chi-town long before the current generation of dim-witted marxists. America typically knows Chicago as Michigan Ave, Sears Tower, John Hancock Observatory, etc.

Anyone who has spent any amount of time there, not for vacation/sight-seeing, knows once you leave the tourist-y areas, it's been game on for a very long time (decades).

It seems like a new phenomenon, because it is only in the last 20 years or so that the concept of the 24hr news day combined with easy access to media via the internet became a thing. Remember when you went out to grab the news paper in the morning and sat down with a cup of coffee to get the weather before heading out the door for your 8 to 5? Me either. But, that was my parents’ routine when I was growing up. News at 6 and 10. Then stay up for “the late show.” The world was both much smaller and much larger. Smaller, because you only really interacted with your local area. The local news was local. The paper reported on local stuff. Sure there was a section for “national news,” but it was smaller than the coupon section. Larger, because there were whole areas of the nation that you never heard anything about. You knew they existed, and maybe that they had a reputation for being rough/bad/hard/touristy/glamorous/etc, but that was it. Now, we have a daily body count for every city in the world. How many people were killed by x in city y on day z? Just ask google. Or, wat about 30 seconds and someone will post it on your favorite forum, along with 15 links. Stats actually show that we are safer now than any time in history. But, you can’t let your kids go to the park by themselves, for fear of a pack of Karens swarming them and having CPS take them away. The world isn’t getting more fucked up. We are just more aware of the fuckery.

I said the same for a long time but now Im no so sure. With the media/communications/internet blasting all the fuckery it seems to be increasing in magnitude.

I see the world fast approaching 'Critical Mass".

coming home from an elk hunt a few years ago, doing 80 east we stopped outside of chicago for food and a motel. despite being very tired, it was so nasty we got back in the truck and drove another two hours to get as far away as possible.
