Saw one of these in 7mm in a LGS. Straight grain stock, blue, commercial Mauser action. The price was $1050 or so and I saw nothing special about the rifle. I have an Interarms MKX that is just as smooth.

Anyone have experience with these? I am not interested in one, but would like to know what commands the high price.

They're Austrian. Hence the price you pay for their engineering. They make some really fine sporting rifles.

I used to have one in 7mm, that was nearly 20 years ago. It had a very smooth action and was well made. With it and a cheap 3-9x40 I shot for the first time at a estimated 1000Y at a 55 gallon drum, hit it a few times too but had to hold waaay over.
