Rifle Scopes Vortex Dback Tactical - What’s this?

What is this. A cap? It’s hitting on the base(Nikon Black) and won’t allow leveling of the retical. Not that big a deal, can just get the chainsaw out and remove a little metal. Never noticed it before. Nothing in the manual about it.

If I were to do anything to it I'd use a Dremel not a chainsaw.

That’s probably the gas fill/purge port. It won’t be a problem to cut the mount away from it; definitely don’t trim it down.

Well with me a Dremel IS a chainsaw.
