vortex razor hd genii zeroing question

I was at the range today to confirm the scope was still sighted in. It was off a bit so I made an adjustment. I should have done this by removing the turret cap and making the adjustment using the inner ring. But I instead used the outer ring. Now the outer ring is L2.0 (MOA). Can I now move the inner ring left 2.0 from its present position and then return the outer ring to zero? I prefer having the outer rings set to zero.

Adjustment should be made with the turrets set on zero and use the small screw under the cap to make adjustment for your zero. After that tighten set screws on turret and you should be good to go.
