Rifle Scopes Vortex Tactical's

[Ackley Improved]

Guys

Has anyone heard anymore news on these? There seemed to be a bit of hype regarding them from initial reports, but it seems everything has dried up in any further updates/information.

If I remember they were targeted at the NXS range.

I am at a stage where i need to buy another scope, and was going towards the NXS route.

I will second that.... I am looking at a second scope and would like to hear more on the Vortex tacticals [I know so little on them, other than 3rd hand rumours].

I have been holding off many nice scope purchases and visit this post on nearly a daily basis looking for any indication these are still coming out. I wonder if there are others like me?

As far a being near the NXS price point, it was my impression that Vortex was trying to come in about $500 less.

It sure would be good to have such an option, even better to know something about it.

Hopefully this is not just rumor.

All I've heard is there's a 5-20 FFP mil/mil on the way and a 1-4 FFP mil/mil on the way. I'm interested more in the 1-4 right now.

I'd like to know more also.

Maybe Scott at Liberty Optics will chime in. He has been keeping close tabs on the release schedule and may know more... You may also try giving him a call.

At this point late Summer, early Fall would be the soonest possible release time. It is absolutley coming (not just rumored) but not for a few months at least

Doug have they given a better fix on final pricing for the 5x20? I would wait if its going to be in the $800 range but dont want a rifle to sit naked and then see a delivery price of $1200 or more.

I am pretty sure that this optic is going to be over 800. 1300-1400 is where I believe this scope will come in at, or at least that is what I have gathered from my research on the matter.

There is no pricing out at this point, however, the 5-20x50 will be worth more then the asking price as all Vortex product is, however, I'd feel safe saying it will be north of the mid $1000.00 price range.

Hey guys, Vortex is an Industry partner over on AR15.com and I am sure that if you popped in over there and asked in their forum that you could get most of your questions answered by the Vortex resps themselves.

End of the Summer would be the earliest that you'll see them available and mid thousand range on pricing would be a fair expectation

I don't think "holding out on one" is a good idea, if you need a scope this summer. As in June-July-August. The scope is real, it's real fine and will be a combat level riflescope. Unfortunately, that reality does not limit it to the commercial market. There is no comfort level with a proposed August delivery date. I expect this to have limited availability this year for the consumer market. We will be at the forefront of info and availability for the new Vortex Tactical. IF you can hold off until fall, things look much better, but it's important to limit expectations of easy availability this year. I've been pretty quiet about this since SHOT b/c there is nothing new to report, except a pushback of the delivery date. There will be mil/mil and moa/moa versions produced.

Shifting gears, there has been a lot of observation on the downfall of Lupy, the backing off of Nikon from the tactical market, and the failure of Bushnell and Burris to fill the void with serious product. Gazing into my crystal ball, I'm here to tell you, I expect this tactical void to be filled by Vortex in the coming 18 months. The beauty is that Vortex <span style="font-style: italic">wants</span> the US tactical market for civilians, they are an Amercian-owned company that has shooters filling their ranks and have respect for our firearm rights and tradition. They know how to bring a real quality product of superior value to the market, and I can't wait to see what's next.
