I'm putting it on my AR with a AD recon 20moa.Im up in the air about which one.Using it for steel and pdogs.Is the PST worth the xtra $550 Edit 6-20 Thanks

it all depends on how you plan to use the scope.
the standard viper is 6.5-20 zoom, the pst is 6-24 zoom. the pst is easier to dial range with, the pst is illuminated, since your saying the pst is 550 more i would assume the pst your looking at is ffp. the sfp 6-24 is only 300ish more than the standard viper

I have 2 of the 6.5-20X44s and they are nice for what they are. If it is going to be a range and p-dog gun I imagine that the regular viper would work well. If you plan on ranging or shooting where illumination would be needed then the PST is needed.

If you go with the regular viper get the 50mm. The eye relief on the 44mm gets very short and finicky when you approach 20X.
