Just picked up a viper hd 10x42mm for $299, but then I quickly realized the Leupold bx-4 pro guide that I just returned had much better clarity. Upon some research I also found out my viper hd is the earlier version before 2018 which has already been discountinued. Does anyone knows if the current version of viper is much better? Should I get the new viper or go back to find another pair of bx-4?

Im sure you can return if not impressed. I actually bought the BX2 Alpine as a gift for my buddy. For the price point, they were a great deal and quality.
Do you know if the newer model is much better? I wonder if I should return them and look for a 2018 model. I tried them in Cabelas but couldn't tell any difference indoor.
I don't know for certain. What I do know is that some of the reviews on the Cabela's webpage go back to 2011 and I am going to make the wild assumption that Vortex found a way to get better glass for the same price point when they revamped these in 2018. Also, reviews from the last couple of days indicate that this set does not come with the chest pack for carrying.
