Rifle Scopes Vortex Viper PST 2.5x10x44

Before I get flamed I did a search. Can find a lot on 4x16x50 and the 24. Im building a 300 WSM pitol. Looking for a scope to 500 yds and I dont want a 50mm optic. This is a hunting gun will get beat and banged. Will this scope hold up to a 300 WSM?
