I have a savage 10 fcp hs precision and have been shooting at 750 yards with excelent groups out of my Nikon Monarch 6-24x50. I am strongly considering a vortex viper pst 6.5-24, does anyone have any opinions on this scope for out to 1000 yards. I have a nightforce 32x how would it compare

For me the 6-24 PST is too much mag. I'd go with the 4-16X. I've shot 950yds with 15x with no problems.

I've found that as the magnification goes up my shooting gets worse. I guess it's because the high mag amplifies movement and I lose confidence in myself.

ok I see and understand. I really think I shoot better with my 32x than having it on 12x at 300yards because I consatrate so hard at hitting a very small spot in the of the bullseye, but that is y they make different power scopes for different people.

the PST's are not out yet. on paper I LOVE the scopes. I have a 1-4 on pre order. I'll probably pick up a 4-16 PST for a .223 bolt gun down the road.
