I put Aadland caps on my Viper PST 3-15 x 44. Very high quality and very sturdy. Yeah, they were a bit tight to open/close at first but got a bit better with use. Frankly, I don't want caps to open easily....that's why I bought good caps.

I can see why you'd say that, but... I used Butler Creeks for over 20 years and never had one break. I've used Vortex Defenders for 2 or 3 years and have had two break. Vortex was good about replacing them though. That's just my experience

Not why you think but from breaking multiple Butler Creeks a year in matches and never having a Defender break since starting to use them since they came out. Butler Creeks are pretty fragile if you hit a barricade or anything they just break. Everyone has to use what works but I would never use a Butler Creek again. I would go Aadland before Butler Creek as they will cost more to begin with but less during the replacements.
Video of one breaking. Go to 2:20 in and watch it just pop off. When BC were the only way this is something I had to live with.
Butler creek would not replace my caps, Vortex will that in it's self why I won't buy BC any more. I have 2 sets of defenders that have not broken since they came out. All caps will break if you use them enough, I don't see BC as being better with no warranty.
I just picked up a set of Defenders.
I have several sets of BC's and never had an issue, but I'll be going Defender from this point forward.
The current BC's seem flimsier than the older ones.
