I received my MPA vudoo today and all I can say is wow. I mounted a Vortex Razor II on it and attached my thunder beast suppressor to it. I took it out into the backyard and dialed in the scope after a few rounds and then began to shoot a few groups. Just using Gemtech 22LR ammo it was putting them through the same hole. I even completed my NYL swingers on the first try.

My question for either the manufacturer or others who have knowledge about these rifles is: what bore guide do you recommend and what cleaner for this particular rifle has worked well?

Thank you.

Ethridgemd,
Glad you like your Vudoo and happy to know the Gemtech ammo is performing well. I have a case of it around here somewhere I've not opened yet. Those using bore guides are reporting the 40X rimfire guides work without alteration, etc. This one from Dewey has been mentioned a few times: remington-40x-37-delrin-rod-guide

I use CLP from Lucas Oil (https://lucasoil.com/products/out-door-line/lucas-extreme-duty-clp) for general cleaning and Boretech Eliminator (https://www.boretech.com/products/eliminator-bore-cleaner) for the bore.

Mike,
How often do you recommend cleaning?
Also a dewey 22 cal rod and jag should be sufficient for cleaning correct?
Couple passes with a brush and then a few patches?

I don't really clean all that often, typically when I see groups open a little or if I have a match coming up, I'll go over everything but may not clean it. If I clean before a match I'll put some number of rounds through it of the lot I'm shooting in the match. When I do a deeper cleaning, I use a Nylon bristle brush with Boretech Eliminator followed by some number of patches. The Dewey Jag will work fine.

Hope this helps.

Just to save someone the same hassle I had...Dewey 22 rods are actually a bit too large for some rimfire barrels. Per their website FAQs:

"Why do you recommend a .20 caliber cleaning rod for the .22 rimfire?
.22 rimfire barrels are known for being very tight compared to center fire bores. In many instances our .22 caliber coated rods will work in rimfire barrels but there are barrels in which they will not. CZ bores are notorious for being extremely tight. We have determined that using either a .17 or .20 caliber coated rod in .22 rimfire barrels provides extra clearance and takes the guess work out of whether or not a .22 rod will be too large to pass comfortably through the barrel." https://deweyrods.com/product/20-caliber-nylon-coated-rod-25-inches/

I figured this out after i wedged a 22 cal Dewey into a 22LR Volquartsen a few years back.

Last note, the thread pitch is different on the .20 cal rods, so may need an adapter (17A) depending on jag you use.
https://deweyrods.com/product-category/parts-accessories/adapters/ or an add-on option when purchasing above rod direct from Dewey.
