Walnut tumbler media.....Cheap!

Just ran out of media and was going to get some from one of the large sporting goods suppliers. I looked up the price and it was $23.99 per bag.

Then I remembered someone here talking about getting some at a pet store. Stopped at the local pet store and got a large bag of Lizard bedding crushed english walnut for $8.00!

The stuff looks and cleans like the original.

How do you tell when walnut media needs replacing?

I just monitor the color. When it starts to get dirty looking I chuck it. Much easier to tell with corn cob because it's lighter but you can see it.

I used my first bag from the pet store for 4 years, thousands of cases were cleaned, add Nu-Finish to the mix when it looks dirty
