Not making any recommendations but it would be very difficult for a thief to use this code reader if the socket is already occupied!

I like Wrigley's Spearmint. Super Glue is a great product isn't it?

Good stuff, QQ, thanks for the tip. Super glue IS wonderful stuff.

Re: Watch out for Hotel rooms with Onity Locks

Why even make a lock that can be tricked with a dry erase marker?

What is the best solution, jam gum up in the hole where the guy is inserting the marker's tip?

Re: Watch out for Hotel rooms with Onity Locks

If you watch the vid, you'll see the device is housed within the body of a dry erase marker. The tip of the device is inserted into the DC port on the underside of the lock chasis. It is not a marker tip.

There is a lot more to the story and it is clearly a nightmare for the manufacturer as well as the hotels who bought this lock. There are "Firmware" patches available as well as steel cover plate that will supposedly require removal of the lock to access the DC port.

Not sure what that does to the ability to open the door in the event of a card key failure where only accessing that port to reprogram it or reset it would be necessary. The removal of the lock is done from the opposite side of the card reader.
