I picked up some surplus 5.56 bullets today at the gun show. I started doing some searches to find out what the armed forces load behind these puppies and it listed 24.7gr to 26.1 of WC 844 behind them. I was looking in my Hornady book and it doesn't make a reference to this powder. Is there a good source on cross reference for questions like this out there? Like an encyclopedia of powders?

Thanks for the help.

from gibrass.com

WC844 Original application is U.S. 5.56mm NATO Ball M193 (55gr) & M855 (62gr),
plus Tracer M196 & M856. Typical starting load for 55gr bullet is 26gr,
and 62gr load is 25gr. A ball powder which can be loaded with Hodgdon H335 data.
Also works great in 7.62mm NATO (.308 Win.).
This is pulldown powder.
