Shooters,
Warren County Rifle Club held it’s third long range highpower match of 2009. We had eighteen shooters come out to enjoy the weather. We had one new shooter come out to AEDC, Tim Moore.
Weather today was mild for August. We started the day about 75* and overcast, and by matches end we had most sunny skies and we were mid-80’s. Wind was light with the normal AEDC fishtails, but overall it was a very nice day. No mirage early, due to the overcast skies, but it came on heavy by the second match.
High Any Rifle/Palma shooter for the day was Chris Hayes with a 395-19. Matt Kubic put up a 398-14 with his new Barnard. Laura Perry was high Woman, with a 381-11. Mark Woods was high Palma, shooting a 379-6.
Harry Breece topped out the F TR class today with a 374-05. Harry’s pair of 187’s was enough t edge out Mason Parker, who put up a 370-2. Mason was high Junior today.
Jim Sokolowski was on top of the Open Class today. Jim’s 387-8 was enough to hold off Randy Graham, who ended the day with a 383-9.
I’d like to thank John McGuire for running the match today, Maj. Sheppard for opening the range and having it in its usual outstanding condition and all the shooters who came out and made this another safe and successful match.
Our next match is next weekend. This will be the 2009 TN State Long Range F Class championship. Registration will start at 8AM each day and we hope to start firing by 9:30AM.
