I have a near mint early 60's 300 Wea mag. I was wondering if anyone has used one of these German actions for a LR rifle. I am thinking of a 30/338 Lapua and the action is big enough. Smooth and safe.
Can I get a McMillan stock for it?
    Will smiths work on it?
    Expirences?
    Thank you

The weatherby actions are nice, especially the Mark IV's. They are really well made and designed around the high pressure weatherby rounds. However not every smith will work on them and parts can be more difficult to find.

I have a Mark V AccuMark in .308 . The gun is very nice, but I couldn't find many upgrades for it. I added a Rem 700 to my collection to satisfy my "need" to change things.

You can order a Mcmillan for any inlet you have. So yes, you can put a McMillan on it. Your main issue is you need to find a smith that is familiar with that action to work on it. Once you do that, your gun should be just as accurate as a 700 that has been trued. As long as the smith is reputable you don't need to worry about your accuracy, it will be up to par.
