Gunsmithing Weatherby vanguard scope mount bases?

I have a stainless weatherby vanguard LA and was doing a bit of research on scope mount bases and thought I read somewhere that the Remington 700 model scope mount bases fit the vanguard. Also what height rings would I need for either a 40mm or 50MM OBJ scope. Thanks for advise in advance. Any reference to specific parts greatly appreciated

The Remington bases will fit on Vanguard rifles. I've used the Leupold 2 piece bases on both a Vanguard and a Howa 1500 rifle for good success.

I have 4 vanguards and anything 50mm i have had to go high or extra high rings. I just mounted a nikon 40mm on a friends vanguard and with medium rings there was only .25mm of clearance between bell and barrel on a 257 weatherby.
