Weird Primer Procket, dented?

I was decapping some Lapua 6.5 Creedmoor brass tonight and noticed that on one piece of brass, there were two "extrusions" in the primer pocket.

The two "extrusions" are 180 degrees from each other ther just outside the flash hole.

At first, I thought it was from the decapping pin missing the flash hole and pushing the primer pocket towards the head of the case.

I don't think this is the issue, but I may be wrong.

I tried to capture it in a picture. It is in the 6 o'clock position, right above the "re" in Creedmoor, and also at the 12 o'clock under the "u" in Lapua.

Any ideas?

I can't see anything inside the case, but that doesnt mean there isn't something to see.

I'm thinking about cutting the case head off for a better look.

I have not had all that many Lapua brass, but I've never seen that on any which I do have.

what size decapping pin are you using? a small pin or regular size pin?

lapua SRP brass has smaller flash holes. a standard size decapping pin is larger than the flash hole and will deform it when decapping.

Never seen anything like that on any of my Lapua brass of large or small primer pocket.
Probably a stupid question but are using a large or small decapping pin on your die ?

I'm thinking the threaded rod that holds the pin was bent and pushed the decapping pin into the side of the flash hole.

It's weird that I didnt notice it until there were two dents in the primer pocket.

That's exactly what looks like happened, with some of my Hornady dies I've had to do a fair bit of tinkering to get the decap assembly straight in the die.
I'm surprised it didn't break the pin, I still have an old Pacific Durachrome die that I broke the end of the stem that way.
