After not shooting my old 30-06 for years I dusted her off for deer season, cause my go to rifle has had fliers, first shot of old match rounds and bam... split case. I have shot probably 300 of this same load no problem. I think moisture or chemicals got to it.

That's probably just a bad piece of brass IMHO (ie manufacturer defect). I have a once fired Lapua (6.5x55) that looks just like it (moderate pressure load).
You might go through the rest of the batch and make sure it's the only one. But otherwise, I wouldn't be concerned.

I had a brand new box of Hornady black do this on a brand new Winchester supergrade maple 270…. I was terrified it scorched the chamber but luckily all was good.

Oh this is Hornady 30-06?

I took this picture on the range one day. New Hornady 30-06 factory ammo that some guys next to me were shooting.

Looks familiar. Hornady 300 Win Mag. First loading, about 1.5 gr under max. Only one in the lot that did it. No harm done but that box of brass has sat on the shelf since it occurred.

Any idea what causes this particular failure?

Since the rupture is longitudinal, I am guessing a "bug" on a drawing die creating a thin spot in the case wall as it draws the brass out?
