AS, what line of work you into? I can look around here to see what's available, course you might have a long ass commute if you find something

When I e-mail them I always ask for follow-up, then e-mail them to see what's happening within 7 days, after that the phone calls start. Right now I would work a burger job. It sucks being told you are either over or under qualified for damn near anything that comes up...Here I come Voc Rehab! Two to Four years of school, steady job on base as a PTSD counselor or Behavioral Health Counselor.
Get me a nice cool AC'd office job, yessiree.

I got canned last Thur. , Its OK I was planning on leaving any who . Got to say what I have wanted to for 2.5 years . Made the boss look like a fool by telling the truth in front of a few friends . Piss on him , he chose to fire me in front of others trying to be the tough guy .

Took a few days off to shoot , clean house , have some Jack . Start work tomorrow , more money , overtime pay , 401K , BC/BS insurance .

I'm laughing all the way to the bank .

Switch that would be one hell of a commute for sure. I am gonna put my cooking skills to work at my Buddy's restaurant till I figure out what the plan is.

i got fired two weeks ago! got drunk, slept in, shot my guns, spent time with my girl and buddies for a whole week then started looking. Found a new job in 2 days that pays better, better hours, better co workers.

This is a professional system folks , do not attempt if you are of feeble mind and weak constitution . As you can see , garret and myself have perfected this method of job hunting , it has taken years of training , we learned from the best , we are self trained .

Maybe, but your assumption is a bit premature. In some cases UE pays more than an alternative job and if the OP has a family that stuff matters...

Thank fully its just little ol me so I have lots of options to move or whatever. The restaurant gig is just keep some cash flowing while I am looking, plus its flexible enough that I can take off for an interview or two. But no matter how much I dont want to take UE its an option that I know is available if I need it.

I agree with you that it's nice to have the option. I mentioned that because if you take the chef job it negates your ability to take UE. So you might do the math and see if the time you spend cooking could be better spent looking for a new gig. It's a crappy situation regardless but liek I said above, it'll probably end up being a silver lining for you.

you can have a part time job and still collect UE. My buddy did it for a couple weeks when the economy first tanked. We both got laid off with 'the group'. It sucked, took me a couple months to find a decent job back then.


Sorry to hear you got cut but there's good news. The Powers That Be have fixed the economy so you'll be back to work in no time.

In regards to UE. Hell, you've earned the right by having money taken out of those paychecks you earned - why not claim it back? It's YOUR money. It's not leeching, it's not living on the sweat of others. I pay over $35k in taxes each damn year, if I lose my job then you better believe i'm going to try and take this govt for everything they've already taken me for!

Leeching is term best applied to those who've never worked or only do so sporadically and feel they're entitled to be looked after 'just because'. These people can go f*ck themselves IMHO.

I've heard of people doing this, might be worth looking into but it just covers a portion of the difference, so you might still be better off not taking it and going the full UE route...

Queequeg, ive been in the south (Northwest FL and AL) since 90. Just when you think you've heard the thickest southern accent someone comes along and surprises you(in my experience its always been with women).
Still havent picked up a true southern accent, my family is orginally from the UP of Michigan,( think Fargo accents :)) All though I do put a really bad southern drawl on some words. Update on the job hunt - Ive got a good lead on a IE job in GA, so I have my fingers and toes crossed.
