Falling in love with older guns. I’ve got a 1955 Model 70 30-06 in damn near new condition that I love. Just picked up a Marlin 336 30-30.

What’s my next rifle to obsess over and what years are best for said rifle? Thanks!

Of course you need one of these

But then you have to make sure it has some of this too :)

My favorite affordable old rifle is my Swiss K31. The quality is very high and it's different, I like things that are oddballs.

I used to hate Mosin's, mine shot 4-5" groups with milsurp ammo and at the time I was wishing I had bought something else. A few years went by and I bought dies, brass, and .311 174gr SMK's. Now it's a sub 2" rifle with me and the old irons. It functions perfectly, the bolt is pretty smooth, it balances well, so I changed my mind and find myself using it more than some of my other old rifles.

I don't own one but I'd like to get a Krag, IMO the smoothest old turn bolt around.
