i watched the movie shooter again last night and noticed something i havent seen before, in the opening sequence when walberg is on top of the ridge with his spotter i noticed that on the non ejection side of his reciever where on some rifles there is a side bolt release on his rifle there is 2 sloted screws and i have owned a few remingtons and i have never seen these before can anyone shed some light on what these are?

Screws are used for mounting an iron sight base and are commonly found on 40X's and older 700's.
