Just wondering what you guys are hoping for. I've had some Vortex Viper scopes in the past (still have one) and really like the glass. I think it smokes anything else for the money, except perhaps the Sightron SIII SS. I had the SIII 6-24x50 Mildot. Loved the clarity but didn't like the very narrow depth of field and the mismatched turret, reticle but it was only $750 IIRC.

Personally, the matched reticle/turret, zero stop provision, 100moa/29mil of adjustment, illiminated reticle and 4" of eye relief sound awesome. If the scopes are as clear as the previous Vipers I've had (6.5-20x44 BDC and Mildot) then I'll be more than pleased. The only reason I got rid of my others is the somewhat short eye relief. At 20x it would bite me on my .308 more often than not.

I'm probably going to buy the 2.5-10x44 SFP, MRAD.

What are your expectations? Better than the other Vipers?

Re: What are your expectations of the Viper PST?

I have pretty high expectations, particularly because this company listens to the shooters. I plan to pick up a 6-24x50 FFP and 4-16x50 FFP both in EBR-1 MOA. These will be replacing my Mark 4s.

My main reason is, I want matching reticles. I'm hoping the glass clarity will equal my Mark 4s, or the accupoint (which has fantastic glass). Some chromatic abberations will be acceptable for this price point, even my Nightforce exhibits CA at 15x+ magnification at 100 yards.

I want what I'm sure most everyone wants: audible and tactile turrets, consistent and true tracking, clear and bright glass, even illumination, and a fantastic company to stand behind their products. I'm pretty confident we won't be disappointed.

Reliable repeatable adjustments that track accurately.
An erector that is mechanically and optically centered.
Illumination that doesn't wash out the reticle.
Eye reielf that doesn't change alot with power change.
Turret locking screws that won't strip.
I don't care if clicks are audible, they just need to be positive w/out backlash.

All that means more to me than perceived clarity. As long as the clarity is as good as Weaver, SWFA SS (the old ones), Nikon or Bushnell I'll be wanting one.

i notice on the vortex tactical website it looks like the glass has the same XD and XR lens attributes. I wonder if they are the same as the HD scopes.

Re: What are your expectations of the Viper PST?

This should be a great scope for its price range. For a FFP scope with Vortex glass and quality, this should be a huge seller for the company.

I expect a great product with this scope. Same as everyone else's expectations. Knowing Vortex theyb should pull it off well

My only disappointment is that there isn't .2mil hashmarks on any of the EBR-1 reticles until you bump up to FFP.

I don't need FFP since I'm not LEO/Mil and could use the extra $200 towards rings and a base. My pockets aren't as deep as some users on here.

If the 4-16 SFP reticle was the same as the FFP model, I'd be all over these scopes.

Here is the link to the reticle pictures Scott and Sam from Vortex posted:

Since I couldn't wait for one I bought the illuminated Elite 4200 with FFP and Mil/Mil. I'm loving the FFP, definitely. Makes life so much easier.

Wow. If they're that good and tough, I'll really be impressed.

I agree about the company. They are really good folks and the customer service is outstanding!

I'm looking forward to it.
