It seems like a decade has past me by. I dusted off my old competition rig, and I'm getting my things back together. I miss this old hobby of mine. Has there been any new and interesting technological advances since then? Looks like I will be shooing my old .260rem with the 139scenars. Is it still relatively competitive by today's standards?

Well now, welcome back. Your .260 is still absolutely competitive. There are lots of new 6mms in use. Probably the biggest changes are in scopes, chassis, bullet tech., Kestrels with integral ballistic programs and never mind there's an incredible amount of new stuff. The rangefinder market has changed dramatically with the loss of Vektronix. Bushnell and SIG have some excellent products.

There is so much new stuff, in every category, that you have to wonder who is buying it all. The sport has expanded geometrically. A 6.5mm with a good driver is absolutely competitive. Your going to have fun.

What you have missed in the past 10yrs.

1) The worst President ever.

2) .260 brass is now available from Lapua

3) Kestrel do everything but make coffee.
