I'm going with vortex precision 34mm rings for an ar in 308, what height are people using? Also if you have pictures that would be awesome.

You will most likely want AR height rings which are usually in the neighborhood of 1.5" from the top of the rail to the center.
Go to American Rifle Company, go to the listing for their rings, scroll down and they have a nice description of how to stack Pennie’s to determine needed ring height and it’s of course applicable to any brand ring. Just cross ref his ring heights to the closest of your chose brand.

You will want no lower than 1.35" up to 1.50". Your smaller objective lens will allow you to go a little lower than standard (1.50") for an AR platform. If you had 56mm, you would need the full 1.50".
This is a 1.57" mount with a 3-18 Meopta, 50mm objective. Could go down to a 1.5" no problem on my rifle.
