He nailed it with this one sentence.

I had a buddy who did a long stretch in a Viet Nam prison camp. I asked him how he survived and his answer was similar. " They con only imprison your body, your mind can remain free." (paraphrased)

Then on a different note, Christ, told us to give not thought to the one who can destroy the body, but to the one who can destroy the soul. The early Christians considered it an honor to be martyred because their belief in the future glory made anything the 'World' offered as worthless. THAT is true freedom., and greater than I have at this point.
