What is the 22 that you consider the most fun for you? Got a Titan stock to slowly put together a Kidd Supergrade as extra cash flow allows. Dug a 10/22 I put together for the kids years ago and stuck it in the stock. Had a ball seeing how fast I could get through the spinners. It’s been a while for me just to go out and plink and it was a lot of fun.

10/22 action
Magnum Research Carbon threaded barrel
A few Volquartsen parts and some polishing
Nikon Prostaff rimfire 3-12
Aguila sub sonic and Silencerco Spectre 2

Browning Buckmark Varmint
Burris EER AO scope
Burris rings with 20 moa correction

Yes, I can stay on paper at 200 yards.

It's fun, just not easy, eh? :D

A bud had a Silhouette that we would shoot at 100+. Always wanted one but never did get one. We shot the factory sights don’t know how that would work now. That was probably 30 years ago. I have always favored the Buckmarks over the Ruger.

The Buckmark Varmint is the Silhouette
without the wood foregrip and mounting screw.
Lucky for me, I was able to obtain the grip and screw.
So my Varmint is now a Silhouette and can be mounted to an F-class bipod.

Even more fun and gets some confused looks from others at the range.

F-Class 22lr pistol, at 200 yards?
Say what?

My Rossi Model 62 pump with a 16.5” barrel. Had it for 41 years and put untold amount of ammo through it. Still a great little gun.

My Nylon 66. It is a time machine, that takes me to a simpler time.
This is one that for some reason I have never owned. I put a few back together for people and don’t remember it being fun for some reason.

This looks like something I would end up trying.

Built like a boat anchor and a bitch if you just pulled that cover off. BOOM parts everywhere. Mine has 10k of rounds through it and I do not recall a single issue. We made speed loaders out of old aluminum arrow shafts for when the shooting was quick. Good times.

Man, that’s like having to choose a favorite kid! I have so many 22 toys and they are all just a ton of fun. I guess if you held a gun too my head (pun intended) I would pick my 10/22 race gun for steel challenge. use to shoot it a lot before getting into long range, but I still pull it out and go play now and then just for fun. The zombie camo hydro-print still gets attention when people are around.

Yep a box of parts is what I got every time. Never seen them have an issue other than that.

Hands down a 10/22 puts a smile on my face shooting rapid fire offhand at 50 and 100 yards at steel.
This was exactly what I was doing. Funny how as much money as we spend on this stuff digging a gun out of the back of the closet can bring good times.

This is what I ordered the stock to build. What kind of accuracy are you getting out of it? Is it very picky?

It's not picky. It will shoot 0.5" at 50Y with most ammo. With ammo it likes (like Center X, and some other SKs) it will shoot in the mid 0.3s at 50Y.

Right now it’s a toss up between these two. Brand new CZ 457 MTR with Area419 Arcalock rail, Area419 30 moa base, and SWFA fixed 10x Mil/Mil...

Any highly accurate scoped bolt action in .22LR. That's all it takes to keep me happy!
Yes, this.
For me it's my Vudoo, and not only for all the typical reasons.
One primary reason is it feels just like my center-fire match rifle--having magazines that match the size, feel, and muscle memory usage of AICS mags is a great thing!

Which one is the best shooter?
Somehow I managed this yesterday with the Annie at 25m
6FF8E0AA-8A27-4860-9046-ADA934D9AFC8.jpeg

which shocked me, and it repeated it in the top left square the next 5 shots.
And this is some Eley Sport with the CZ.
16A4BFD8-2C3F-4C2D-A8D1-088BCCB0FF50.jpeg

The Annie is from 1982 and I have no idea how many rounds are down it. I bought it with a bunch of partial ammo boxes from the same era. Good ammo at that. The CZ is brand new and these are the first few shots down the barrel.
Something tells me, that if the same scope was on the Anschütz, it would shoot smaller groups. I don’t really know how I’m capable of the groups I shot with it using those apertures.

It’s nice to see all the different guns listed. I went for a bunch of years only bringing the 22s to the range for the kids. i Had forgotten how much fun a 22 can bring. Probably been through a case or more of ammo in the last three months.

My Winchester single shot 67 inherited from a grandfather. Shoot my first gopher with it and a truckload of vermin in the ensuing decades since. Light, simple and fast to aim and shoot.

Hmmm,
Ruger mk1 pistol with 6" barrel
Ruger 10/22 with a nice scope (skwerl killin machine!)
Marlin bolt action with a nice scope ('nuther skwerl kilr)

.22lr is probably my ALL TIME FAVORITE cartridge! In all honesty, I'd call it one of the best all-around, go-to shtf items.

In 2013 I sat on a jury trying a 2nd degree murder case. Woman popped her boyfriend with a .22 lever gun because he hit her in the head with it, then told her he was gonna shoot her, then go find her kid & shoot him... Dead is dead! She took the gun from him & popped him through the upper chest. He said, "You SHOT me!" fell back and turned around, so then she drilled him back to front right through the base of the skull. Came out under his right eye.

VERY interesting photos from the ghoul medical examiner (this guy does.more than 300 autopsies each year. He spends more time with DEAD people than live people, apparently... and looks like it... Very interesting character).

Anyway, right from the get go, I thought she was justified shooting this guy, and eventually hung the jury, who just wanted to throw her under the jail and go home. After spending a few more years in County, without another trial... the prosecutor added some more charges, like obstructing justice, tampering with evidence, etc. and she just got tired of it all and caved, pleading guilty instead of not guilty and off to state prison she went...

So yeah. .22 is actually pretty effective for what it is. Another hammer, albeit a small hammer, in the toolbox.

Tokay444...curious is the MTR the full set up that area 419 has for sale? If so how does it shoot and what ammo does it like?
Unfortunately not. It’s the factory barrel. If found the stock with the rail already mounted at my guy Tom from Go Big Tactical I try to do most of my business with for $175 Canadian. I couldn’t pass it up. So now I have two stocks.
So far it likes Eley Sport, Eley Club, Eley Target, CCI SV, and oddly enough, American Eagle 38gr HV copper plated hollow points.

For me it's my little mark 4 22/45 lite. I use it every time I shoot steel challenge and raccoons. It's got the valquartson trigger and

the Dawson front sight.

thanks for letting me know! the WTR form area 419 also has the factory barrel, with the pic rail, arca rail, 419 bolt. They just threaded the factory barrel...

Pretty sure they chamber a Bartlein.

Maybe not. I was certain I read that.
Ah well, I guess I have everything but the bolt knob. The factory barrel is threaded.

Strange...the factory MTR's don't come threaded but AREA 419 threads their barrels as part of the package....
Did you buy it new or used? This looks just like the AREA 419 full package....
Regardless..how does it shoot? Have you taken it out past 100 yards?

I bought the stock separate. The gun was BNIB from my LGS.
It shoots awesome. I was hammering 6”x6” steel all afternoon at 200 with it today.

Very cool..thanks for responding. It's a beautiful looking gun. I might be picking myself up one of these...

It’s so comfortable.
