I know the 700P is the police issue version and the R5 is the mil-spec barrel, but what is the other differences? I see both have same triggers etc.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

5R is 1:11.25 twist
700P is 1:12 twist...
5R is stainless
and I believe the stock is different.

and about $300.00

5-R mil-spec has a "5-R" barrel five lands and grooves. Lands have a 45 degree angle from the bottom of the groove to the top of the land........... Or they should. Brother recently picked up a 5-R 308 and I landed a 223, barrels are better than your average Remington and they shoot. If I was out to just grab a stock Remington it would be the 5-R.

+1 on the 5R. 99% of them are shooters. I prefer it over the 700P. I've spent 1000's of rounds behind each.
