I had one for a short time on that 300RUM Sendero but did not like the bulk and the weight.
Everything else about it was excellent.
Had to add a cheekpiece to get my melon high enough to peek through it.

I have yet to be found wanting in a hunting situation with a 56mm Zeiss.

I have both 56mm and 72mm Victory FL Diavari 6-24 with .25 inch locking turrets. They are awesome. The 72mm only shows an advantage in extreme low light or night time situations, and even then only at higher magnifications. And yes, the 72mm is big and bulky but that is clearly evident before you buy it so no surprises there.

I would say it depends on your intended use. For hunting up to sunset in most situations the 56mm is fine. If you need extra magnification at or after sunset then get the 72mm.
