Many moons ago (okay only a few years ago) I was using QuickLoad with good results. So before I guy the updated database what are people using these days? Mostly interested in .308Win and 6mm and 6.5mm Creedmoor.

QL is still quite popular and its databases are being updated regularly, but platform wise it’s a pretty dated tool. The new kid on the block is Gordon’s Reloading Tool, which is more modern but still new and evolving.

Thanks for the update. I found Gordon's and downloaded it but have not had a deep look. Seems to be very similar but also seems to have some interesting bits too with an active user group working to improve it it seems like it has a lot of potential. The QL app is sort of closed in that being German they have a certain more um, structured mindset. If you have ever been to Germany many of the top line hotels are still wearing the same chic carpets and furniture they bought in the '70's.

Not that there's anything wrong with it but the underlying QL program has not changed in nearly10 years and they acknowledge it. I like QL and have learned to use it to produce reasonable loads to start from and even seems to be reliable within my small environment of two Rem700 based TacOps and one factory Rem 5R .308Win action rifles. All three guns were working extremely well with loads developed to replicate FGGM in 168gr and 175gr SMKs and some more creative loads developed during the pre-Covid powder and bullet droughts. But it's as if the drought was never over and I would like to find new loads and work on possible 6.5CM loads to play with the ballistics.

I guess I'll play with the Gordon's and in the meantime order the QL update to use what I know how to make work. Thanks.
