Rifle Scopes What Nightforce for my SPR?

I have a Noveske SPR on the way. What Nightforce scopes do you guys recommend? I have always bought Leupold scopes but have been disappointed with the failures with the last 2 Mark 4 scopes I have purchased.

Im not familiar with the different reticules they offer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would look at 1-4x24 NXS or the 2.5-10x24 NXS. Also, look at getting their unimount it's pretty nice. I would look at Mil dot reticle.

Just got a 2.5-10X32 Zero stop Np-R2 for mine, using a 1.375 Unimount, perfect set up, love it. Check with Bear Basin, I got mine zero % interst for a year. I'll have pics up soon as my SPR is nearing completion.

What do you plan to do with the scope? Size targets? Ranges?

Either the 1-4 or 2.5-10 would work well but kind of depends on use which would be better. I have a 1-4 on my AR. Just showed up today actually. Has the FC-2 reticle which I got because the scope i was using had a similat reticle and I really liked it for quick target shots from 0-400 yards.

I will most likely use it for 100-600 yard shooting.

The 2.5-10x32 would be my recommendation. You should check out the Velocity Ballistic Reticles. Either that or match the mildot and mil knobs or NPR2 and MOA knobs.

I just got a NF NXS 2.5-10x24 with their Ballistcs Reticle a few weeks ago for my SPR.

The reticle is handy for holdover shooting.It works allot better than I thought it would!

I love that scope!!!One of the better purchases I've made in my life.

Got one. It'll shoot tite to a whole lot further than that.

I almost got the new ballistic reticle but I will be switching this scope to another rifle with different bullet weights and velocities. I think the ballistic ret. limits you to one load, just my opinion, I guess that's why there are so many choices.

ill probably go with the 2.5-10x24... I have not seen any info on caps though. It would be nice to have some flip ups.

You can get the kind of flip up caps that come on the 2.5-10X32 from Weaver for the 24mm objective model, they come in two versions, one with the "polarized" front and one with a clear front. Right now I'm using a Butler Creek #02A objective cover and a #11 ocular cover on my 2.5-10X24.

The flip-ups come with the 32mm objective model, but they are crap. I replaced all of mine with Butler Creek after 2 of the OE flip-ups broke. I think the 24mm objective model still comes with the rubber lens covers which you turn inside out to stay out of the way.

Piling on, but definitely the 2.5-10. It's what NAVSOF uses on their MK 12 MOD 1 SPRs...that was good enough for me.

For a precision rifle I tend to recommend a 3.5 X 15 X 50mm.

I agree with Mike above if weight is not a factor. I haven't shot my 10X past 100 but I have always perfered more magnification. I have a 32X NXS on my 7WSM and really enjoy being able to "crank" it up when conditions permit.
