I know each barrel is different, simply wondering what velocity I should expect from a 26.5" 40XB barrel, marked 7.62 NATO, a 1 in 13" twist?
NOT looking for MAX here simply wondering what the Experienced .308 shooters here have found.

Just started loading Berger 175's the Long Range Target bullets #30420. As Berger shows they are acceptable for a 1 in 13 twist.
OCL into the lands was measured at 2.980". So i'm thinking a LONG throat ...as I see 2.810" or 2.80" as the "book" OCL .

My first load, 44.0 of Varget, WW brass, 210M @ 2.835" OCL sent five into .297" In a nice round hole. Velocity was 2691 fps with an ES of 8 fps.
3400' elev 48 degs.

I've read 45.0 grs of Varget with the various 175's seems to be a standard. So I'm going to go up in .2 gr incremensts to 45.0 and see where it takes me.

As an aside......I also loaded a few more with 44.0 of Varget, but sent the OCL out towards the lands, -.040" off . All three of those groups were in the .7" area and strung horizontally.
So possibly this gun likes them on the SHORT side. Is a jump of .145" unusual? I assume it's acceptable?

Any guidance appreciated.
