Alright I need to little friendly advise. I'll give the short version of the story and if additional details are needed I'll give them. So back in 4/2008 I commissioned a Smith that had done work for me in the past to build me a rifle. The rifle was to be built on a Lawton 8500 action and shortly after ordering the action Barney told he was terminal and thus delayed the action roughly a year. So about a year later the action shows up and things move along but still very slowly. Anyway shortly after SHOT 2010 I'm told that the rifle is done except for the nitride and dipping. Finally come July my patience is exhausted and I tell my smith to get my rifle back from Lakota and have the rifle to me by late August. Well that dead-line is not meet so I give my smith one last dead-line. He is told that either he will have me a tracking number or the rifle with-in the next 3 weeks or so or I will be a plane and we can conclude our transaction face-to-face (the rifle has long since been paid for). Well my dead-line comes (Sept 24) and I get a phone call. Apparently my while finishing off the test ammunition I sent for the rifle the bolt-lift has become heavy. Alright well I agree to have the rifle sent back to Lawton to correct this issue and then have the rifle sent directly to my FFL after repair. Well the following week I send Lawton an email just to ensure my rifle has been received and have not received a reply. So I try numerous phone calls to Lawton and no answer. So as a last resort I try sending Bobby Lawton and my Smith an email and I still haven't got a reply.
Anyway my question is this, What would be reasonable course of action from this point. I am at the point that I'll be happy to just get my rifle regardless of condition. I mean with the amount of time and money I've got invested I could have bought my own Lathe, learned to use it, and build the rifle myself.
