Sooooo....... I messed up a number when turning a proof carbon fiber barrel tendon and I'm currently sitting with an OD of 1.029" by .890 long. If it was a steel barrel I'd just turn it into an ar10, but being carbon fiber I can't just push it forward or profile it for an ar. What can be done with this blank? Most expensive mistake to date. Can this brand new barrel blank be used for any type of action?

how Much room do you have before carbon fiber? You could find a competent tig welder and build it back up..
you could use this as a excuse to make your own action..
Put it up for sale.. Id definitely buy it once it got low enough I couldn’t pass it up..
Or use it to make a lightweight big bore air rifle.. lot smaller Tennons there

If you Tig it back up, that amount of heat and rapid air quench over that amount of surface area would probably ruin the tempering of the heat treat.

Probably best to sell it or make it a Tikka barrel.

It's a .30 cal 10 twist 22" sendero. Only thing done to it was that first .890" turned down to 1.029" on the chamber end. If anyone is interested in it for a win 70 or tikka send me a pm. I'd be happy to get rid of it.
