Rifle ScopesWhat to look for in used leica geovid 10x42
A guy I work with is needing some money and he is wanting to sell a pair of Geovid 10x42s that he is asking $800 for. Other than making sure the glass is in good shape, is there anything else to look for?
if they look like the current model that is one heck of a price. heck I would buy them and flip them for a profit at that kind of money. as long as they haven't been run over by a truck for that price just buy them, if not let me know where I can.
A steal buy it. I have had one a few years now and the optics are incredible and it ranges pretty far. I can look though them all day with no eye strain. Make sure the lenses are in good shape and the rangefinder works.
I know the rangefinder works since I checked them from inside the shop today. I will take them outside in the sunlight and get a good look at the lenses but I kind of figured it was too good of a deal to pass up even though i was going to put the funds towards a scope.
I got a chance to take them outside and check them out today. The glass is damn near perfect, ranged out to 917 yards and they are the HD's so I bought them. I might change the battery for the rangefinder to see if it brightens up the display any but it's still brighter than the swaro's.
I can't see any other brand of optic being much better. At that power I truly doubt one brand will stand out compared to Leica. Buy it and don't look back.
