So, I'm a total noob to long range shooting at this point. I've got a Howa 1500 barrelled action on order, and will be getting a chassis to drop it in and scope and other assorted goodies every few months as budget allows.
In the meantime, I'm reading as much as possible, and I ran across spuhr mounts and they seem to be claiming that a lot of precision rifle shooters hang lots of useful gizmos off of them. Laser rangefinders and angle meters are the examples I saw for hanging off of the scope mounts. Nightvision obviously for the top rail.
What else do folks hang off their scope mounts or on the top rail in general? And how useful is that verses just having a separate unit for range finding, etc?
