What we've been saying for some time mow. Stop coddling the little mofo's

I'd last all of 2 days as a teacher because I'd tell all of the 1st graders that contrary to what they've been told, you are NOT special.

You can however, work to make yourself special. But unless you do, and you may not even achieve it, you are nothing more or less than everyone sitting around you right now. You are the only one that can change that.

They are really doing them a disservice..... because these kids don’t know how to cope when they get to college..... and know how to cope even less when (if) they get a job

The failure rate in my freshman courses is between 15-20%

All they have to do is show up, and turn in the work we do in class..... and they can’t wven manage that.

Then every semester I have to meet with a dozen kids while they unsuccessfully try to convince me why I should pass them..... they genuinely think they should pass just because they “ tried”

There is no discipline being taught in HS.....because god for it some soccer mom have to accept the fact that little Johnny isn’t “special”... he’s just an asshole.

Parental over watch is critical and missing. I have 5 kids. First 2 went to great colleges. Next 3 will go to great colleges. Education and relentless attention is primary. Foster the “do the best that you can” and ensure that it is the best that they can do. Free time is bad. My kids have very little free time between school, activities and chores.

I really have no clue how anyone is a teacher today and my hat goes out to you. In our school system we have some good teachers.
