(For those of us old enough to remember this).

I thought I had commented on it somewhere here but couldn't find it..

Someone said the world needs more of this...I'm not sure, it's a good memory right where it's at ...

Re: What's mine is yours! LOL (1971 Coke commercial)

My graduating high school class was forced to sing that hog shit song during the baccalaureate ceremony in 1977.

Naturally, we revolted during the rehearsals; either by not singing, singing as poorly as possible, or repeatedly using the stupid Coke jingle lyrics rather than the even more insipid original 'Sentiments'. There actually was a lame song from which Coca Cola changed the lyrics to come up with this...

Our efforts were sufficient to cause the two teachers in charge of the whole graduation production to threaten to withhold our diplomas.

The night of the baccalaureate ceremony, almost none of a class of over 400 seniors sang that stupid song. In fact, the idea was so bad, and the threats and scolds by the teachers so pointless and empty, that the actual graduation ceremony was a mutiny too! We were supposed to march off the field in rows of four at the conclusion. Once we all had our diplomas, which were blank until we turned in our mortar boards, we erupted in a cap throwing spree and ambled off the football field like the rabble we were!

We then picked up the caps, laughed and horsed around, turned them in and got our diplomas and scowled right back at the teachers we had humiliated in return for their coercion.

So if you don't mind Arc, I'll pass on watching that video as that piece of lefty doggerel is imprinted indelibly on my mind and, as a child of the '70's, I can't spare the brain cells it would reoccupy!

I actually couldn't get this one out of my head today. Note to self: DO NOT listen to the lunch hour mix on the radio during break.

Here's one that I keep getting stuck in my head. Don't know why since it has been 20 years since I've heard it on the radio.

Queeg I completely understand! Like I said some memories are best left where they are.

Not sure how I came across it either...but I found the Pepsi Kung Fu one from a few years ago - that was cool.

Rooster you stepped right INTO that one LOL

No. It all started when my son told his sister to "Beat It!" when she was pestering him.

That started it all.
