Newbie question here. I see that some rifles on the Hide are sporting Remington 700 actions with a "G" prefix. My question is: what is the difference b/t a "G" prefix action and a regular Rem 700 Action? Is one better then the other? Is one more desirable for a custom rifle?

G actions are the same, but the USMC used this sn range to build some of the late M40 iterations. M40 A3/M40 A5. So if doing a spec build, that is what you want. Otherwise one is like the next. Older ones have different triggers/safteys etc. Many or most have custom triggers, about any 700 is a good 700.
