What's the difference...

I asked in the SB and some of the Hider's in there are wondering the same thing I am. I am having a 3 position safety added to my 581 but I'm stumped as to the difference between a 3-Position Safety and a "locking" 3-Position Safety... I wish I could say I have idea's, but I am completely clueless as to what this could possibly be...
