Whats up with all the AW sales all of a sudden

Re: Whats up with all the AW sales all of a sudden

I think it's a combo bewteen some looking for the AX and others realizing they want to try something other than AI. It has no bearing on AI. Some people get caught up in "AI" buy it and realize they wanna try something diffrent.

This isnt marriage, your not stuck. But just like marriage, be prepared to take a bath cause the jilted down leave with you breaking even most of the time!

Re: Whats up with all the AW sales all of a sudden

Tax time, and like others say, flavors of the month change. AIs will always stay strong in the market, retail and resale value.

Nothing wrong with the AI, and I dont think that something "better" (in factory form) has come along to replace it.

But if you knew what worked after you sold it,you could buy/build another.

Re: Whats up with all the AW sales all of a sudden

Not sure it's fair to call AI the "flavor of the month." They've been popular serious rifles for well over a decade for those with the coin. I think the number for sale has more to do with the fact that they now have several reputable distributors in the USA, whereas before it took a lot longer to get your hands on one from TacPro. These days you can call one of five phone numbers and buy an AW off the shelf in 10 minutes.

Mines not going anywhere. You'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands and then I'll come back as a ghost and haunt you by moving your turrets and changing your zero and shit.

Re: Whats up with all the AW sales all of a sudden

I started to notice this trend right about a month ago around shot show time. The newest kid on the block (or soon to be) is the AX and the AX stock that wil fit Rem 700's, so it MUST be BETTER than the OLD AI...RIGHT?

Watch all iof the AICS stocks FS once the new AX type stocks are out.

Thats the apple in the tree!!

I won't go for an AX till I can get behind one. The current Chassis fits me too well. It will have to fit me as well or better and be lighter for me to switch. I think the coolest thing about the AX is the trigger.

Its rough on a lot of people. Cleaning up the mess from Christmas bills, the job market is sour, economy in the shitter, taxes due, etc etc.

Now is the time to get a great used high end ANYTHING. There is lots of stuff, even outside the shooting realm. Really, I was chatting with another member and right now is the time to get any high end rifle or optic. Its a buyers market. Its not just AI. Look at the number of PHs, USOs, and GAP rifles. Nothing wrong with any of them. Just time to rethink what doesn't get used all the time.

This.

AINA has really stepped up, and gotten things rolling, and now product is available. When supply is massively outstripped by demand, you tend not to see anything for sale on the secondary market because no one's willing to sell (the people who do own them are the sorts who spent plenty of time, money, and effort to get it, and they're damn well not going to let go that easily). Once the supply appears, people go back to the normal day-to-day buying and selling, shifting things around to find what they like best and trying out new toys. That's the sign of a healthy market, where people can readily get what they want, how they want it.

How much the AX has to do with things, who knows. People who want to have the newest will want one, but that doesn't mean the stalwart AW series has any deficiencies in comparison to the AX. If you're wanting a good, ultra-high-quality precision rifle, then there's no reason not to buy an AW now.

Re: Whats up with all the AW sales all of a sudden

I sold mine to try a DTA SRS. Will I regret it? I hope not, but I can find another. I'm looking forward to dropping 3lbs and 11.5" off the length of the gun. Makes the gun easier to stick out the window on yotes and swine LOL.

Re: Whats up with all the AW sales all of a sudden

I also sold my AI to fund the SRS. For me its a decision of economics. I believe in sticking with the same platform. So if I want to shoot 308 and 338 with a S&B on each in the AI platform, well thats just freekin ugly $$$ wise. I was quite content with just the AI in the land of 300 and under ranges but recently an opportunity to shoot at a private 1000+ range has presented its self. So the only way really to achieve this with very little money out of pocket was the SRS. I also admit to being very interested in the platform and want to try it. For me any money lost switching around has a value in first hand experience gained. I consider myself fortunate enough to have gotten to try an AI and will now try an SRS. Only then will I know from first hand experience what each is like.
