Sounds to me that the camera man et al, were fine. Seems the SWAT team were using those special 'pre-programmed guided bullets' that aim only into steel, glass, and rubber. Just to stop the vehicle, you know.

What do they call those? Less-than-lethal, or something like that?





Ok, all sarcasm aside, is this not what is referred to as the 'tunnel-vision effect'? Seriously?

Not when they start shooting, but when they fail to stop shooting.

People would be surprised to learn that the level of training, fire discipline, and command/control for many specialized teams is remarkably low, especially for teams that appoint members on the basis of political patronage.

If an officer would have shot another officer, or the camera person, or a civilian on the camera side of that SUV, it very likely would not have been justifiable.

I am not LEO or any military trained badass but if there was a threat and the vehicle had a great backstop...the lawn....wouldn't that time be the best to disable the vehicle?

Like I said I am not LEO so maybe the departments frown on that?

Looks like when the target vehicle is level and passing the camera guy, EVERYONE on the drivers side of the vehicle is taking a shot without any thought of where the rest of the team members are or even that they have team members directly behind the car on the opposite side of the road to them. Cars DON'T make a great backstop!!

Not sure why they didn't use the second APC to ram the car instead..........maybe all the lads were out of it pouring in the rounds???

Stressful situation and the "monkey-see monkey-do" scenario. Any number of thing could have led to the shots fired. New officer scared shitless, cowboy attitude, tunnel vision. Not defending what took place, and I hate reading YouTube comments, but until you know the whole story or was there, its easy to criticize. Fom what that video shows bad decisions were made. But thats just from what the video shows.

WOW, that's amazing. It's like throwing a monkey a football. Those are SWAT Officers huh. Looks like some rookies strait out of Police Academy The comedy. Monkey see monkey doo is right. Where the f*** was someone to tell them not to fire?

A bad decision is waking up next to someone saying damn I didn't think she was that big. This is just plain piss poor judgement.
