What's your favorite .224 target bullet out of an AR?

Lapua 77 gr Scenar-L. Highest BC bullet that will fit mag length (Litz .206 G7) and more consistent dimensionally than Sierra or Hornady.

H4895 provides excellent accuracy as well but a tad slower than 8208. My SD is 9 over 25 shots with this load. Here's my load development, seating depth testing and final load confirmation targets:

I agree, the 77smk, 75 BTHP and 77cc all shoot very well in all my 223 barrels. I just cranked out 1000 77cc rounds with 8208xbr and 3xLC on my 650 the past 2 days. They shoot lights out in the 20" Ultramatch shilen that I built for my neighbor and my WOA's. Just built a new 10.5" WOA upper and its stupid accurate with this load. Im trying to use the 77cc's up. I have thousands of them taking up space and typically use them to break in new precision AR barrels.

I actually like the 77 TMKs. They are not as accurate as the SMK but if you can get them to shoot, they perform better downrange. I shot in gas gun series that went out to 700. I had multiple first round hits on an MOA target at 700 through the series. I used the SMK out of a different gun (and a bit slower) and seriously struggled.

They are much harder to get to shoot than the SMK though.

I switched to the 73 ELDM for a while now. Equal accuracy as 77smk, higher BC, cheaper..

I'm running the 73 for the same reasons. 23.7 grains of H4895 with a CCI 400 in LC brass seated at 2.250" was the clear winner for this combo in a 18" Rainer UM and a 18" Seekins Rock Creek. Once I found the OCW, I did a primer test with 205M, CCI400, CCI450, and the CCI41. The CCI400 was the key to bringing the long range groups together.

Also, I've always been urged to try 77 grainer with 21.6g of H322 with a Wolf SRM primer or a Remington 7 1/2. I couldn't get any Wolf primers locally so I tried the Rem 7 1/2. I seated a 77 grain Nosler CC to ~2.250" in Lake City brass and shot five shots into a knot hole. I'm not sure of the velocity, but the precision is excellent.

You should just get yourself a 223 bolt gun if you want to single load 75 Amax's... Here you go.;) lolol

this is insane accuracy.
This bullet, and the 80 gr eldm, cannot be stabilized by 1:9 twist rate?
