When ammo prices will go down?

May have to start reloading/ rolling your own. Even shit steel cased .223 ammo is over .50 Each.

Prices are the same whenever we went through this with the last election. Prices will come down when people stop losing their minds... It would help if the Looting and rioting were to stop

For myself, I may not be able to keep buying the “match grade” ammo, and compromise, a bit, my sense of precision. I have loaded a lot in the past, and actually enjoy it, but that initial investment could be $500-$1,000. I think I’ll search the PX for used loading equipment, 6.5 Creedmoor. Regardless, I need to do some “ciphering”.

when shit settles and if trump wins, I will be sticking up like a mother for the next 4 years

Stick-ups can be tricky and taking scores over a long period time without getting pinched requires skill and discipline. Make sure you have a good, trustworthy crew, especially your wheel man (an often under-prioritized role on the team).

Lastly, being on point with the intel is the ultimate key to sustained success.

best of luck in your endeavors!

HA HA HA HA prices go down lol that's funny hahaha .

We go through this every four years. It’s sucks for about 6 months on both ends of the season and then balances back.

It’s also the time we see local gun shops put up signs to create fear and panic buying so they can convince customers to buy as much as they can at the marked up prices.

...except the PX/MCX/NX...they’ve always been the leaders in overpricing ammo year round 😂

Federal had fire sale prices because they lost Lake City to Winchester this go around.
Federal was selling 1k rounds in 20 round boxes @ $225.00 for over a year and a half.
So it's not like it wasn't out there

Ammo is super expensive now. I need .308, 6.5 creedmoor, for example. Is there a light in the end of the tunnel? It's almosr $1 a piece.

Could you seriously ask any question more stupid than this one?

NOBODY FUCKING KNOWS

BTW, $1/round for 308 or 6.5 Creedmoor is NORMAL for any ammo worth shooting. If you think that's what they are selling for today you're an idiot. And if you think a buck a round is expensive, go be poor somewhere the fuck else.

You don’t have him on ignore yet? I was close but the other thread is getting fun.

What other thread?
Too many to keep up with. Here’s two.

I cringe when the “gouging” word comes up. I always want to say. “Ok, I’ll trade it to you for an equal price on the Amazon stock you bought at 9.75”.

If the price dropped sharply no one would clamor to pay you the high price you paid during the panic.

A guy recently wanted to purchase one of my NIB LPR’s. After 20 questions game he offered me MAP price. Surprised him when I turned it down.

A gangbanger named Marvelous once told me, "when you do your dirt, you do it alone."

Seriously though... I just burned the last two hours combing the internet for 6.5 prc brass. I'm stocking up too when this over.

There's an old saying in Texas, probably in Tennessee too. "Fool me once..... shame on... shame on you. You fool me you can't get fooled again.

Some shit like that....

Folks who fail to plan by consequence plan to fail.

It sucks these supply crunches always happen around election years or notable events but it’s indicitive of how precarious the footing our 2A rights have been over the past 10 years or so. But you either stock up when the getting is good or go without/pay thought the nose when it’s not.

How’s Marvelous doing these days?

I would've stocked up last election, but I bought a bunch of black guns instead. I have four kids and a stay at home wife. Braces, family vacations, extracurricular activities and all that...

Marvelous is probably dead or in jail, if I had to put money on it. I lived in a REALLY sketchy house with him where we all rented rooms for dirt cheap. One day he sold a little .25acp to some kid that loaded it, put it in his pocket and then left. A minute later we heard "POP!" and after a few minutes of staying glued to the floor I went outside to see what happened. The kid threw is leg over his bike and somehow shot himself in the leg in the process. He was still straddling his bike, looking up at the sky and licking his lips while choking back tears. We put a tourniquet on his leg he probably didn't need and tried to call 911, but Marvelous made it clear he WAS NOT going back to jail. The kid took off on his bike and left. I left an hour later with half my stuff and never saw him again. Every time I see one of those little Saturday night specials I can't but wonder what happened to both the kid and Marvelous. Not exactly my most heroic moment. Gotta love NY.

It's supply and demand. Pure and simple. "Gouging" is a socialist artifact.

Plan ahead or bend over
Cheaper Than Dirt had wolf steel case 9mm for a buck a round. May not be "gouging" but you would have to be really desperate to pay for it.

That’s also Cheaper Than Dirt which was leading the gouging charge last time around. I haven’t done business with them for years because of that.

FYI, I found out with a short "vacation" from the Hide, that it's best not to share your thoughts in a price gougers thread in the PX. ;)
Yea I meant the actual “exchanges” (stores) on military bases. Depending on the branch, they are called different things but usually the short hand slang is just “PX”.

Common sayings referencing the PX:
“Hey guys, I’m heading to the PX to buy some ammo at full, if not double, MSRP.”
“Anyone need any shit fudd ammo at $2/rd from the PX?”
“Man I fuckin hate the ammo selection at the PX. Fuckers want $35/box for FGMM 168gr....and they only have two boxes. Wam I supposed to do with only 40rds?!?”
“Fuck the PX. Yea I know there’s nothing else to do this weekend because we can’t leave the base. I dunno, wanna go walk around the PX and contemplate killing ourselves with a fresh pair of shoelaces? I’ll fly, you buy.”

Man who the fuck shops at the PX?

I always lived off base, so the only time I ever went there is if I needed some uniform stuff.

Even after the elections prices won’t come down quickly.

If Biden wins, expect a continued run on guns and ammo

If Trump wins, expect riots, so more guns and ammo. Eventually it will come down, but I expect that to be at least a year out for supply to catch up to demand. And I’m talking about mid 2019 prices

Time Stamp for Historical reference Marker. 10 Feb 2021. The price of ammo has kept increasing. Now a Bargain for 6.5 Creedmoor is 2.20 a round, with the majority of available online stock pricing out around 4.00 a round. With shipping and insurance, this can results in a total cost of commonly available rounds hitting a hundred bucks for a 20 round box of 6.5 Creedmoor. At this point, the early bird gets the worm. I got up at 5 this morning, to catch ammo the moment it was listed. That allowed me to snag some at the low-low price of 2.20 a round (plus shipping). All of my local shops have been at a zero inventory for about a month for this round. All of the local shops are limiting on box per day for purchase, with the exception of one shop, which allows you to wait in line before the store opens to get a Ticket, which allows you to purchase up to 3 boxes. The line starts forming about 1.5 hours before the store opens.

Someday, we may be looking through this thread, either after this madness has passed, or gotten dramatically worse. I hope that today represents the worst which will be seen, but it does not feel that way.

its all guessing about the future , either you find out its a plot to take what you have or things get to normal what ever that is . I tend to think the worse while praying for the best out come so when it fall somewhere in the middle I am not let down either way . Hoard like tomorrow will never come cause It might not . its fun surfing the net hunting down the items I am looking to stock up on made it sort of a game just wish I was a smarter man and did this 20 year or more ago rather than at the last min but that's life .

If people dont stop paying a dollar a piece just for bullets it will never come back down. .20 a piece for primers. 100 dollars a pound for powder. Crazy I won't do it and shooting is one of the biggest parts of my life.just quit it. Just my opinion

Local gun store got in a pallet of 9mm, a pallet of 380, and another of 556. 60 cents a round for 380, 46 cents a round for 9mm and $1 a round for 556. Sold out in about 5 hours. Lile you said, people are dumb enough to pay it so it will continue to stay at these prices or go up. Online prices are even worse and shit sells out immediately. I'd like to buy an accuracy international rifle I found but am waiting until shit calms down some.

Imagine if you had to choose between blowing money on overpriced pew pew things or overpriced houses right now.

Buy low, sell high I guess. 😂

I think some stuff will come back to earth fairly soon. IMO most of the people buying 5.56, 9mm etc aren’t buying it to go to the range that week. Some of it sure, but at the current price the majority of people are going to be taking it pretty easy on their stash.

At a certain point they are going to look at their shelves and decide they don’t really need anymore especially at current prices. They aren’t shooting it (too valuable) and they have whatever quantity they deem adequate just sitting there.

Now at what point the saturation point nationwide is hit I have no idea. But I’m starting to see some ammo sit for more then 30 minutes at some stores so some areas are getting there.

People see two boxes sitting on the shelf and they buy both of them. They see 50 and they walk right past them lol.

You are thinking like a long-term gun owner. Please toss the millions of new gun owners who have joined the mix in the past 3 months. Some are still just looking for ammo to zero their weapons, and build their baseline skill set. They are the parties who are willing to pay the most. If they have just spent over 1k for a gun, spending 50-100 bucks for bullets is cheap compared to the rest of their investment at this point. They DON'T have memories of when the ammo was cheaper. For them, this is NORMAL.
